New Life-Changing Positive Body Image Campaign
for Women and Teens

The Fitting Room Boutique launches the “Foxies” Body Image Campaign, targeted to reach teens and women in the Lake County area. The campaign features seven “real-women” models eager to educate women on issues such as body dysmorphia, eating disorders, bullying, low self-esteem, and more.

“The Fitting Room ‘Foxies’ (Amanda, Anna, Dana, Faya, Leah, Jonelle, and Sarah) is a group of women who share the core belief that NO woman should compare herself or her body to any standard except her own,” says Sarah N., “Foxies” model. These seven extraordinary females are looking to inspire women and teens with their personal experiences, instill self-love, and self-respect.

The “Foxies” will host and assist in educational outreach activities to share their message through workshops, charities, seminars and other community events sponsored by The Fitting Room.

“We aren’t the typical six foot, size two lingerie models,” says Jonelle J., another “Foxies” model. “We are real, everyday women: we have kids, we have careers, we love to eat, and we do have our flaws.” Jonelle elaborates, “Our mission with this campaign is to educate women and teens while helping them feel confident in their own skin – flaws and all.”

Bex Anderson, The Fitting Room owner, states “Since our opening in 2012, The Fitting Room Boutique has become a trusted place for women to get accurate bra fittings, as well as a boost of confidence.” Anderson continues, “The majority of the women we fit, constantly put themselves down without even realizing they’re doing it. It’s as if they have this image in their minds of what they’re supposed to look like, causing them to discard any appreciation for their own uniqueness.” Anderson further emphasizes, “I think it’s imperative for women to have a support system to help them learn the value of their own beauty, and the ‘Foxies’ will be the start of that support system.”

In addition to hosting events, organizing seminars, classes and workshops, the “Foxies” plan to connect with women through their personal blog and discussion boards. “This gives women an opportunity to discuss sensitive body issues with a ‘Foxie’ anonymously,” says Anderson. “We will strive to change women’s negative perceptions of themselves, one body at a time.”

Intimate Graphics: SHE AND REVERIE TO DONATE 10% OF PROCEEDS TO CONEY ISLAND USA

she and reverie is donating 10% of sales from their Spring & Summer 2013 capsule collection, Darling of the Sea, to Coney Island USA, the not-for-profit arts organization, to help rebuild after Superstorm Sandy.

The apparel collection, inspired by pastel beach colors and fairytale mermaids, was manufactured in Manhattan and hand-embellished in Brooklyn. The lookbook was shot on Coney Island last summer, on a perfect summer day in July. “When the weather is that beautiful, it’s easy to feel invincible,” said designer Quinne Myers.
The island and its businesses have struggled to rebuild after Superstorm Sandy, and the indie lounge label hopes to help.

“When you purchase from this collection, not only do you get  beautiful garments made in NYC’s garment district from a female-owned small business, you are also helping restore America’s Playground,” said Myers.

Intimate Graphics: PATRICE CATANZARO TOME 10

If you want to step into Patrice Catanzaro’s world, you better be prepared to be amazed by a collection that is both unnervingly erotic and beautifully artistic. Add to these elements the fact that Catanzaro’s latest offering was photographed by the talented Nath-Sakura and you have an amazing lookbook to entice, arouse and inspire the senses.

But the best way of experience this collection is in person. We were on hand at the last International Lingerie Show to see this amazing collection from the self-described “dream-maker of the fetish world” – Patrice Catanzaro.

Flipping through the new look book, viewers are guided through a journey through Catanzaro’s fantasy fetish workshop showcasing the new designs and also giving a glimpse of the designer’s process, fascinations and inspirations.

All of the garments are created and manufactured in France at the company’s workshops in Marseilles with sizing available in S, M, L, XL, and XXL for all of the styles.
“Our preference color is the black and the main materials are the wet look, the vinyl, the netting, lace,” noted the designer. “The wet look is a new material, combining the aspect of leather and of the latex, the flexibility of the lycra and the shine of the vinyl.”

The company also offers, upon request, custom requests.

The inspiration to start the boutique started in Spain. Miss Venga explains: “A few years ago I found myself in Spain with 2 kids, recently separated and a need to find work. Being a size 14 -16 I struggled to find lingerie that fitted, so thought I would start selling sexy products in the vibrant local markets. The Erotica industry was still in it’s infancy in Spain at the time, and I saw an opportunity. A friend of my family lent me £500 and I used it to buy stock, including plus size vintage lingerie, toys and lubes.

Later on, she sold her stock at festivals, markets and set up party nights across the bars of the Costa. Shortly afterwards, Miss Venga was born.
