Lipgloss & Lace: Priscilla Jade

               by Mandie Mutchie

I’m in love! You already knew that I am in love with my boyfriend, but I am ALSO in love with Priscilla Jade (the lingerie line, not a person)! I had the chance to ask designer Priscilla M. Codinach a few questions to learn more about her line and what inspires her, and am sharing what I learned with you!

How long have you been in the industry?
PJL has been is business for 7 years.

How did you become a lingerie designer?
My second semester in design school I wanted to start my own business. I always loved costumes and design as a little girl. Lingerie seemed like a fun industry to create my own brand.

How did Priscilla Jade come to be, and how did you select your name?
Before I enrolled in design school I gave myself the nick name PJ. My younger cousin said I looked like one of her Bratz dolls, Jade. I had long black hair at the time. I put the two names together and it just seemed to stick.

What inspires you as a designer, and your design for your line?
I love simplicity and comfort. When I first started designing for my label I wanted it to lux. Over time I learned what my customers were drawn to. All women want the same thing, to feel comfortable in their own skin. Its my goal to create intimates for every type of woman.

What sets you apart from other lines?
I grew up sewing with my grandmother. From start to finish my products are hand made. Patterns are drafted by hand and first samples are sewn in my home studio. I recently moved to Los Angeles in order to grow the company via production in the US. I value that my grandmother taught me how to sew. I want to keep that handmade principle and maintain a high quality product.

What do you love best about this season’s line?
The Noir COLLECTION has been a signature line since it debuted. The basic styles and combinations are timeless. My intimates are versatile from a special evening out with your partner or having breakfast in bed.

What can we expect from Priscilla Jade in the future?
I will continue to build off of my signature style and evolve as a designer. Since I have been in Los Angeles I have more access to new materials and fabrics. I am excited to launch more ranges and colors for 2015.

Where is Priscilla Jade sold?
You can purchase PJL online at our website and several boutiques in Miami, Fl and Los Angeles, CA.

Do you exhibit at any trade shows?
No. Buyers can register as a boutique/retail location through our website. We list all retailers on our list of stockists.

Is there anything else that you would like the readers of Lipgloss & Lace to know about your collection and brand?
We offer gift cards. Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale ends Dec. 2 The shopping code is PJLBLK.

Here are some new photos from a Miami shoot that took place last week. The photographer is OTB Miami/Eduardo Valdez.

Lipgloss & Lace: Daisy Corsets

               by Mandie Mutchie

Hello, Lipgloss & Lacers! Happy May Day!
Hopefully, wherever you are is getting better weather than Milwaukee!

If not, and you are looking for something to heat things up, I have just the brand to profile!

Have you ever heard of Daisy Corsets? Either way, read on!

While they do make many BEAUTIFUL corsets, that is not all this amazing brand has to offer. They also offer beachwear, and those styles are available from sizes XS-XL, which is a great range!

Even better is that most of the rest of their collection, which includes lingerie, corsets that can be worn as outerwear, and of course, a wide variety of corsets, is available in a size range that goes up to six 6X. The great thing about corsets is that they are flattering to any shape and size, as they enhance the hourglass shape!

Another standout about Daisy Corsets is that they have costumes, which in and of itself is ok, but the best thing about them is that you can separate the corset part of the costume for wear outside of
Halloween or your occasion – you get more bang for your buck!

I highly recommend that you check out more of this versatile brand!

Here is their website – www.daisycorsets.com

Lipgloss & Lace: Exercise Like A Jellyfish!

               by Mandie Mutchie

As you know, one of my passions outside of lingerie is fitness, also known as helping people look and feel better in their lingerie.

When I came across this article, I couldn’t pass it by – it’s about fitness, but not just for a better lingerie body – for better sex!

Most people in this industry are probably familiar with Kegel exercises, and that if women do them regularly, they can improve their quality of sexual intercourse! These exercises, which strengthen the pelvic floor, also have medical benefits – supporting the spine, keeping your internal organs in and supported (keeping your
organs in is always a plus), and maintaining continence.

But what I was surprised to discover was that most people who do kegels do them incorrectly! The author of the article recommends that they are done in a standing position, and that you focus just as much on relaxing the muscles and contracting them. I highly recommend that you read the article for more information if this is
something of interest to you!

I want to take a moment to reiterate why fitness is so important to me, and why it should be important to you, too.

When I write that I want people to look and feel better in lingerie, it’s not because I think that there is a specific ideal body for lingerie.
Honestly, I feel that anyone who is confident and comfortable in their own skin has a sexy lingerie body!

But I firmly believe that the healthier your body is, the more confident and comfortable you feel. I believe that fitness and great nutrition builds confidence, for so many reasons beyond their physiological effects. Selecting a program and sticking to it gives people a sense of accomplishment, which builds confidence, too!

I know that beginning a fitness journey, or nutritional journey, can be confusing, intimidating, and overwhelming. There are lots of different conflicting pieces of advice and “wisdom” that can be difficult to navigate.

I want you to know that if you ever have any questions, or if your customers ever bring up a fitness need, that I can be your go-to source of information and FREE help. Just send me a message on facebook or an email through my website, and I will be happy to help you achieve your goals, and feel more confident in lingerie (or with it off)!

xoxo,

Mandie

Lipgloss & Lace: Dimanche Lingerie

               by Mandie Mutchie

In this edition of Lipgloss & Lace, I’d love to profile another brand –Dimanche Lingerie and its sister Rosa Selvatica. I know – it’s another European brand – but maybe that’s because I will possibly going to to visit Europe hopefully in a few weeks!

Dimanche Lingerie began in 2002 and prides itself on exuding eternal femininity. It is more about classic beauty than making an extra effort to be daring. The Italian designers of this flirtatious brand make it their aim to anticipate and satisfy the desires of all of its customers. There are 11 classic collections, totaling over 140 items.

Rosa Selvatica, (“Wild Rose”), is Dimanche’s younger sister. It is still an Italian line with high-quality materials that comprise fashionable and comfortable undergarments, but Rosa Selvatica has its own unique flavor and colors, since 2010.
This line maintains classic beauty while also staying current with fashion trends – and sometimes creating trends itself! There are seven classic collections in this line, with more than 70 different items from which you may choose.

Both brands focus on high-quality garments and employees, with special attention given to the environment and sustainability. The majority of the designers are graduates from Domus Academy, which is a school Southwest of Milan, where students are encouraged to dream and exercise their creativity.

The classic collections from each brand are always available in their warehouses, but they also offer fashion collections with items that will not repeat. Dimanche and Rosa Selvatica plan to
release 25 different new fashion collections over the course of 2014, which is something we can definitely anticipate gladly!

Here are some of my favorite pieces! Go ahead and give them a “like” on facebook, while you’re at it!
